Moong Dal - 1 cup
Turmeric - 1/4 spoon
Asofatida - a little
Salt - a little
Chilli powder -
Oil for seasoning - 3 tea spoons
Mustard - a little
Jeera - a little
Red chillies - 1
Green chillies - 1
Curry leaves - a few
Onion for seasoning
Boil moong dal with turmeric and a pinch of asofotida. Mash the boiled dal and keep aside.
Take a pan and heat oil. Add mustard, jeera, red chilli and curry leaves. Add one split green chilly and half onion (small size) and fry well. Add boiled dal and adjust water, salt and chilli powder to your taste.
This moong dal goes well with both rice and roti.
