KICHIDI



Ingredients:


Cinnamon - 2 small
Clove - 2 small
Rice - 1 cup
Moog dal - 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste - 1 spoon
Green chillies - 2
Salt to taste
Onion - 1 medium
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Ghee
Oil
Cashews (optional)

Preparation:


Wash rice and dal and keep aside. Keep pressure pan on the stove and pour two spoons melted ghee and oil. After it gets heated add cinnamon and cloves. Also add onion slices, green chillies (slit), curry leaves and fry for 2 minutes on low flame. Add rice dal mixture and pour 5 cups of water. Add salt to taste. Close the lid, keep weight and pressure cook it. After five whistles, put off the stove. After opening the lid add finely cut coriander leaves.
